Jörg Bach

Jörg Bach is a sculptor who has devoted himself to working with steel, a material that has gained increasing importance for the visual arts since the 19th century and is now one of the classic artistic materials of the 20th century.
He welds ground fruits and wind grains, rain cups and pearls, reflectors, ground fruits, wranglers and way-walkers, tables to high and grids. He develops large and small wall objects, floor- and free-sculptures made of corten steel sheet, bans frottages and sketches on paper and canvas. For the most part, they are intertwined and knotted, yet they also seem to dissolve again. In this way, heavy iron material becomes visually light.
In the process of creation, the randomness of the design dominates controversially to the accuracy of its construction.
"... most of the time I already have it well in mind, like the idea in the back of my head; so many an idea has come to me over breakfast, over my morning coffee..." he once recounted with a smile.
